Venid,
venid pastorcillos, ha nacido un niño/Come, Come Little Shepherds, a Child is
The poem, "Venid, venid pastorcillos, ha nacido un niño" originally in Spanish, is by Chilean poet
Gustavo Gac-Artigas, translations into English and French by Priscilla
Gac-Artigas. (Also
published in TodoLiteratura)
Venid, venid pastorcillos, ha nacido un
niño
cuántas gotas de sangre por metro cuadrado
conquistado
costará el nuevo territorio
se preguntan en Israel
haciendo cuentas
suyo
cuál es el precio del silencio
se pregunta la humanidad avergonzada
venid
venid pastorcillos
se escucha un villancico
Come,
Come Little Shepherds, a Child is Born
How many drops
of blood per square meter conquered
will the new
territory cost,
they wonder in
Israel
doing the math.
How much blood
do we have left,
the children in
Gaza wonder,
without having a
square meter, they can call their own.
What is the
price of silence,
wonders ashamed
humanity.
“Come, come
little shepherds”,
a Christmas
carol is heard.
conquis
« venez, venez petits bergers »,
résonne dans
l’air le chant de Noël
