Llega la Edición 2025 “FILMED IN PERU”

este ABRIL en MIAMI y NUEVA YORK

New York City, NY, Febrero 12.– Descubre la Magia del Cine Peruano. La edición 2025 de "Filmed in Peru" será la más grande hasta el momento. Se proyectarán veinte películas peruanas y todas fueron filmadas en Perú. La programación de este año incluye el estreno internacional de cuatro películas y las otras películas nunca se han proyectado en los Estados Unidos o solo han tenido proyecciones limitadas. Estará presente un número récord de cineastas y actores peruanos. (10 confirmados hasta el momento) 

El cartel incluye dramas, comedias, documentales, cortometrajes y animaciones. Todas las películas están subtituladas en inglés y se proyectarán en cuatro sedes en Long Island, Manhattan y Miami.   

PELÍCULAS DESTACADAS 

• “Mistura” de Ricardo de Montreuil, protagonizada por Christian Meyer y Barbara Mori, un drama sobre una mujer soltera que descubre su nuevo amor a través de la gastronomía peruana. (El director y el productor estarán presents)

• “Album de Familia” de Joel Calero, completa la trilogía de la agitación política que azotó al Perú en las décadas de los 80 y 90. (Estará presente el director).

• “Reinas” de Claudia Reynecke, producción peruana y suiza que fue la entrada suiza a los premios Oscar 2025. (Estará presente el actor principal).

PREMIERES INTERNACIONALES

• “Esta es la U” de Daniel Farfán Salazar, un documental de fútbol protagonizado por el Club Universitario. (Estará presente un invitado especial del club

• “La Herencia de Flora” de Augusto Tamayo, un drama basado en la vida de la activista franco-peruana Flora Tristán.

• “Muerto de Risa” de Gonzalo Ladines, es una comedia sobre un comediante que pierde el sentido del humor.

• “Tatuajes de la Memoria” de Luis Llosa, el director peruano más exitoso en Hollywood, basado en hechos reales durante las luchas del Perú contra los terroristas de Sendero Luminoso.

DOCUMENTALES DIRIGIDOS POR MUJERES

En 2024 el Perú produjo 86 películas y la mitad fueron documentales. Estos tres están todos dirigidos por mujeres.

• “Karuara” la gente del rio” de Stephanie Boyd ganó el Festival de Cine de Lima 2024. Se centra en las luchas de las mujeres en la cuenca del Amazonas. (Estará presente el director y productora).
• “Mision Kipi” de Sonaly Tuesta ganó varios premios en festivales de cine del Perú. Un profesor crea un robot para enseñar a niños durante la pandemia.
• “La Hija Prodiga” de Mabel Valdiviezo, quien comparte su historia sobre las luchas de ser inmigrante en los Estados Unidos. (Estará presente el director).

La tercera edición de “Filmed in Peru” también incluye 10 cortometrajes y el regreso de un Panel de Cineastas, con la presencia de los directores visitantes.

THE 2025 EDITION FILMED IN PERU ARRIVES

IN APRIL IN LONG ISLAND & NEW YORK

New York City, NY, February 12th– Discover the Magic of Peruvian Cinema. The 2025 Edition of "Filmed in Peru" will be the biggest yet. Twenty Peruvian movies will be screened and all were all shot in Peru. This year’s lineup features the International Premiere of four films and the other films have either never been shown in the United States or have only had limited screenings. A record number of Peruvian filmmakers and actors will be attending. (Ten confirmed so far) 

 

The lineup features dramas, comedies, documentaries, shorts and animations. All films are subtitled in English and will be shown at four venues in Long Island, Manhattan and Miami.   

 

HIGHLIGHTED FILMS 

• “Mistura” by Ricardo de Montreuil starring Christian Meyer and Barabara Mori, a drama about  a single woman who discovers her new love through the Peruvian gastronomy. (The director and producer will be in attendance)
• “Family Album” by Joel Calero completes the trilogy of the political turmoil that struck Peru in the decades of 80s and 90s. (The director will be in attendance.)
• “Queens” by Claudia Reynecke, a Peruvian and Swiss production that was the Swiss entry for the 2025 Oscars. (The lead actor will be in attendance). 

INTERNATIONAL PREMIERES 

• “This is the U” by Daniel Farfán Salazar, a soccer documentary featuring the Club Universitario. (A special guest from the club will be in attendance)
•  “The Inheritance of Flora” by Augusto Tamayo, a narrative drama based on the life of Flora Tristán,
•  “The Last Laugh” by Gonzalo Ladines, is a comedy about a comedian who loses his sense of humor.
• “Tattoos in the Memory” by Luis Llosa, who is Peru’s most successful director in Hollywood. Based on true events during Peru’s struggles with the Shining Path terrorists.  

DOCUMENTARIES DIRECTED BY WOMEN

In 2024 Peru produced 86 films and half were documentaries. These three are all directed by women.

•  “Karuara” the People of the River” by Stephanie Boyd, won the 2024 Lima Film Festival. It focuses on the struggles of women in the Amazon basin.
• “Mission Kipi” by Sonaly Tuesta, won several awards at film festivals in Peru. A professor creates a robot for children during the pandemic.  
• “Prodigal Daughter” by Mabel Valdiviezo, who shares her story about the struggles of being an immigrant in the United States. (The director will be in attendance.)

The third edition of “Filmed in Peru” also includes 10 short films and the return of our very popular filmmaker panel, which was standing room only last time.
