Convocatoria para Exposición del Mes de la Herencia Hispana

CONVOCATORIA ABIERTA PARA LA EXPOSICIÓN DE ARTE DEL MES DE LA HERENCIA HISPANA

La biblioteca pública de Queens busca artistas de la comunidad para el mes de la herencia hispana “Cultura Tapiz”, exposición visual que muestra obras de arte originales en celebración de los “Pioneros del Cambio” latinos. Se exhibirá en el vestíbulo de la Biblioteca Central del 3 de septiembre al 8 de octubre de 2024.

Las presentaciones pueden incluir dimensiones de 5x7 a 18x24, acuarela, carboncillo, acrílico, fotografía, técnica mixta, etc. Además, pequeñas cerámicas, alfarería y esculturas que puedan caber en estuches de 12” de profundidad.

Fecha límite para enviar sus obras de arte es hasta el 15 de agosto.

Incluye la declaración del artista y una descripción de por qué creaste y qué significa este arte para ti. Se notificara a los artistas Seleccionados para que traigan sus obras de arte a la Biblioteca central.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH ART EXHIBITION OPEN CALL

Queens Public Library is seeking submissions from community artists for our upcoming exhibition for Hispanic Heritage Month. The “Cultura Tapiz” (Cultural Tapestry) visual arts exhibit will showcase original works of art inspired by this year's theme: “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the World Together.” This theme encapsulates the spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that define the Hispanic experience and recognizes all the Hispanics and Latinos who have been trailblazers and game changers—paving the way for future generations. The exhibit will run from September 3 - October 8 at Central Library in Jamaica, Queens.

Submissions can include 5x7s – 18x24 dimensions, watercolor, charcoal, acrylic, photography, mixed medium, etc. Also, small ceramics, pottery, and sculptures that can fit into 12” depth cases.

Please include an artist’s statement about your work as well as a description of why you created it, and what this art means to you. Selected artists will be notified to bring their work to QPL's Central Library location.

All submissions are due by Thursday, August 15.
